Announcement:
Challenge has ended earlier due to the lack of interest, but still, I applaud everyone who have participated and I hoped everyone had fun!
Current Results:
Challengers Attempted: 7
Challengers Succeeded: 1
Individual Deck Results:
Paige: 6 Win / 1 Loss
Charlotte: 7 Win / 0 Loss
Becky Lynch: 2 Win / 5 Loss
Challenger #1: Ron aka darkworldz
Match 1: Paige defeated Brie Bella TB
Ron started the match strong with his Brie Bella and got on board with fortitude very quickly with the Panic Grab + multi Modified Clutch combo which I am unable to answer to. I returned the aggression with the constant and much heavier hitting BASH moves which pushed him down really fast. As he was unable to utilize his winning strategy card, Get A Look At This, against a female superstar, he was soon overran by my aggression and tapped out to the Scorpion Cross Lock.
Match 2: Stacy Keibler defeated Becky Lynch
Ron's Stacy Keibler chose not to use the new V7 support as his strategy requires him to use Test as an enforcer. My Becky was very soon reduced to 2 handsize on turn 1 while his Stacy drew an additional 5 cards from Velocity. Using the combination of Girly/Diva moves + Superior Leg Work/WWE Women's Title, he was able to further reduce my hand very quickly while increasing his. I was overrun fairly fast and it ended as a one sided squash match.
Match 3: Charlotte defeated The Champ
Ron played Old School Wrestling Match TB to encourage a more aggressive game so that he would have more chance to utilize his ability. Knowing that, I carefully planned my maneuver's damage in order to not give him any chance to use it. He deck eventually thinned out very fast because of the 50 cards Arsenal packing restriction, I pinned him once and he activated his Wrestlemania for another chance. However, he has no more maneuvers in his deck and walked in to his own Old School Wrestling Match TB for my victory.
Overall:
It was an interesting challenge against Ron and seeing how he pilot his Brie Bella TB. I believe I was lucky enough that his ace in the hole, Stacy Keibler, was against my weak link, Becky Lynch. Hence, I was able to pick up a 2-1 victory against the challenger. I am looking forward to playing more games with him in the future.
Challenger #2: Tiansheng (TS) aka The King of Kings
Match 1: The Legacy defeated Becky Lynch
After roughly understanding how I pilot my 3 decks, TS has chosen to start out strong against my weak link, Becky Lynch. My initial attempts at disrupting his hand with Pyrotechnic Volleys proved to be futile as he was able to improve his hand eventually by using the ACE of Christopher Nowinski GRA. Needless to say, I was beat down fairly quickly and unable to mount a decent challenge. The match ended soon enough after I was beaten by an 11D Cody's Flying Drop Kick played as a reversal.
Match 2: Charlotte defeated The Legacy
My Charlotte was able to chock up a humongous handsize after the pre match phase which proves to be a gigantic advantage against TS's hit till it sticks Legacy. TS has difficulty getting fortitude on board besides using the effect of God Given Talent to force in a Neck Breaker. But knowing that it is unlikely that he will be able to find any way pass my gigantic hand, he resorted to out sponging me. I saw this as an opportunity to mount an offense which ended after a carefully planned attempt to knock him out with a Running Clothesline.
Match 3: The Legacy defeated Paige
By now, both of us know how we played our decks as I have been using Paige ever since the release of V7. So both of us lay down our pre matches in a quick manner and get the game going. I was unable to play my usual Pump Kick after getting my Diva of Tomorrow ACE reversed. Both of us traded a lot of offense in a back and forth manner, but TS's legacy manage to control his Arsenal size with recurring of Rochester New York and Major Announcement while I was reducing a lot of my Arsenal through NXT Breakout Star. I eventually fell to his reversal damage from Simply Priceless after attempting to recover using Here Comes The Calvary.
Overall:
This is as close as the challenge could ever get, especially for the second and third matches which included plenty of calculations and understanding. I really should be working on my weak link, Becky Lynch, to prepare myself for the next challenge. Once again, congratulations to TS for being the first winner of the Team PCB Invitational as he walked away with a sealed Mickey James starter deck!
Challenger #3: Junwei aka bigfreakred
Match 1: Paige defeated Cactus Jack
Junwei started the match with the premiere smackdown superstar and vickie combo to pump up his hand size, but he was shocked to find out that the Screeching Car Crash first maneuver protection only applies for Mankind. Hence, he has no other backup plans for initial fortitude other than just hit and pray. Nonetheless, he managed to gather a rather large hand by the end of his pre match phase. Since there was no disruption from either during pre match phase, I just went with my usual stuffs and manage to start the turn well with a Pump Kick and it starts to go downhill for Junwei. Laid some hard hitting moves and continuous disruption from Diva of Tomorrow/This is My House puts the game to bed.
Match 2: Becky Lynch defeated Sasha Banks
Junwei went for a Man of 1000 Holds chain/high risk (actually i'm not sure) Sasha Banks. Since we are both NXT superstars, the Four Horsewomen of NXT is unable to affect either of us and there goes our disruption. I believe he had a pretty bad starting hand as he has to resort to Your Reach Exceed Your Grasps to reverse my Precision Clothesline. Hence, I went ahead and try again while continuously disrupting his hand with my Becky Goggles. In the midst of it, I saw a Don't Try in his hand and decide to wait a while before ACE-ing my N-Bex-T. I drew in to a I Have Waited Long Enough that has a volley:# of 34 so he is unable to reverse it via volley trait. The first one was block by his Volley This but since he has no maneuvers to counter the volley lock, I picked it up for a second try again and cleared his entire hand. I played a Precision Kick and it is obvious what's coming next for him... Victory Roll for the 2-0 victory! First win for Becky!!!
Match 3: Charlotte defeated Mark Henry
We have decided to play the third match anyway since it is for the fun of it. Junwei is using his hand reduction+chain combo Mark Henry against my Charlotte. He did not manage to play everything as I planned a well time Switcheroo to block him off his pre match addition card. Thus, after the reduction, I still have a decent amount of hand left with my own hand addition and Underrated Superstar. He got quite a good start with some good ACE reversals against my multiple ACE Charlotte, furthering the damage done to my hand size, the chain moves were subsequently forced in as well. My first few attempt in delivering the protected moves were deflected by his All Will Suffer but I continue my assault and wear him down slowly but surely. Not long after, thanks to wonderful support cards of Charlotte and her ability, I managed to regain my hand and got the upper hand in the match. Finished him off eventually with a protected move as well. Cheers for the perfect victory~
Overall:
Since Junwei has a Charlotte as well, we exchanged a bit of pointers and see how we can work it out as a better deck in spite of its "smelliness". It was fun to try out my new Becky as well. Thanks for the games! Let's work on some deck construction again soon!
Challenger #4: Norman aka norshaedm
Match 1: Paige defeated Chavo Guerrero
Chavo Guerrero is a tricky one for me since I am still unfamiliar with his 3 new V7 support cards, other than the fact that they made him more reliant on Backed by Vickie Guerrero. Thankfully, being a BASH deck, I have access to D:0 reversals like Worm, You Won't BASH Me, Nowhere Fast etc which gave me a decent defence against him. Knowing that he has Ultimo Re-Chavo in his backlash deck, I went for a Precision Kick instead of my usual Pump Kick to get the ball rolling. Once I got to a comfortable fortitude, I intentionally bait out the Re-Chavo against my BASH move to allow me to search for my BASH Kick/BASH Drop Kick to fuel my Diva of Tomorrow. Did the usual stuffs with the hand disruption and delivering Standing Drop Kick TB soon strip him off the remaining cards in his hand. Norman drew in to a Back Throw which he thought he was really lucky but ran in to my Miss Hell in Boots which allow me to pick up my Scorpion Cross Lock for the win since it is irreversible from Arsenal.
Match 2: The Shield defeated Becky Lynch
The second match is a straight forward one as we are both hard hitting decks with nothing fanciful to play around with. Norman went ahead with the disruption from The Hounds of Justice and removed my only Revo in hand before laying the big Blindside moves. After taking a much damage down the route, I finally manage to reverse on the over turn to play my Precision Leg Drop as a counter to mount some fortitude on board. The match is still pretty much 1 sided with The Shield consistently laying down the moves. The game was soon ended by a big Blindside move from Norman.
Match 3: Charlotte defeated The Showstopper
Norman played a Dynamically Inclined Showstopper which gave him a little scare when The Daughter of the Nature Boy would remove 4 cards from his Arsenal from the game since he only packed exactly 10 Dynamic maneuvers, but I had no such luck and he went on to retrieve the Dynamic moves as planned. The cards searched from Icon (includes a DTTAH and Douchebag) was all out to counter me since he has already observed my Charlotte from my game with Junwei. Thankfully, I managed to clear a Douchebag away from him using my Four Horsewomen of NXT which I eventually found out after successfully landing a protected move. He was pretty torn about when to use his DTTAH on me since the Ric Flair-ish ACE from Daughter of the Nature Boy is pretty much of a prick. Knowing that, I went ahead with the ACEs of other cards until I am comfortably on board with my fortitude and until I manage to get Judo Takedown in to my hand. The Showstopper constantly tried to plummet me with his chain moves from his ringside (which are now heat) but it was in vain as Charlotte has some crazy shit hand growing support cards that made her the Smelliest Diva in the Game. Norman's Arsenal starts to thin down from the damage as he look towards the Wrestlemania ACE for a second wind, but sadly (and comically), he reversed my protected Running Clothesline as the second last card of his deck and drew in to his last card. As he did not reveal any Backstage Anniversary to induce a self pin in fear of my Backstage Shennanigans which he witnessed earlier in my match against Junwei, he is stuck with a count out and unable to ACE his Wrestlemania at the end of his turn. With a last ditch effort, he threw out a protected Shoot Lock-Up which I just ended his turn with a Flair Flop. Count out victory for the win!
Overall:
This was an exciting challenge for me as I know that Norman is an experienced VC player. I learned a few more things from this challenge and is able to brush up on making my decks better. Definitely looking forward to more games with Norman in the near future!
Challenger #5: Elvin aka UcantSeeMe
Match 1: Paige defeated Vader
As Vader is one of Elvin's newest deck, he has very little to no experience in piloting it at all. Hence, the deck construction was a little messy with all the power/slam/clothesline/lariat cards all over the place in his arsenal. His basic strategy is to hit with what he has and draw consolation from the stun value he would get from the maneuver itself (if successful) or from his ability (if reversed from hand). This is a pretty straight forward simple plan but since my Paige is a heavy hand disruptive deck, he is unable to mount a decent challenge. Before long, I manage to cut his hand size down pretty drastically and he became helpless against my submission maneuvers, thanks to Team PCB! I finished him off with a 24 damage BASH Vise shortly.
Match 2: Harlem Heat defeated Becky Lynch
Elvin's Harlem Heat has to be one of the most aggressive deck there is out there. He ran multiple stipulations with the Raw Roulette Wheel to allow him to utilize his Chicago Street Fight before spinning in his win card, First Blood. Knowing that, I standby an ACE reversal in hand right fromt the start to prepare myself for the situation. We traded moves back and forth and I tried to repel whatever that I can, but it was not long he muscled enough fortitude to deliver his Kitchen Sinks and that is where all the hard hitting multi moves come in. In spite of getting 6 Foreign Objects on board, he chose not to ACE his Roulette Wheel as he already predicted that I would have standby an ACE reversal in hand (super clever Elvin!). Instead, he continued to hit hard since the maneuvers are all successful so far. Eventually I managed to end his turn with an Out of Nowhere turning the match around with a protected Dis-Arm-Her! As he has limited hand and Arsenal left, if this goes in, it would be game over for him, BUT, he manage to Restricted Use my Dis-Arm-Her and reversed it with a When You Thought You Had All The Answers... (whut?!) And I was left out cold for him to finish me off with a Kendo Stick... Ouch...
Match 3: Charlotte defeated Harlem Heat
As Elvin grew confident of his 2 niggas tag team, he decided to continue using them in the tie breaker challenge. We laid out our pre matches fairly fast and got the game rolling. In spite of a Trash Talking Interview TB from Elvin to clear my hand of a Revo, my hand soon grow way further with more reds after resolving my own pre match phase. Elvin consistently run in to my reversals and is unable to get any thing pass my insane red hand (there were probably 6 or 7 reds that can stop him). Eventually, I wore him down with my maneuvers and he is left there for the picking, I used my ability to pick up the Figure Four Leg Lock to combine it with the Figure Eight and finished off Elvin with a submission pinfall victory!
Overall:
Elvin has proved to be a much stronger challenge than I thought! I am glad I did not go easy on his Vader due to underestimation or I would have failed to defend the challenge. His Harlem Heat constantly proved to be a threatening challenge for me as I would have to try and keep him down from getting in to Kitchen Sink range. Overall, I am impress by Elvin's piloting improvement and look forward to more games with him! (with other decks hopefully...)
Challenger #7: Daniel aka MR HOT PACK/Daniel
Match 1: Paige defeated Daniel Bryan
Daniel's Daniel Bryan (very catchy) is built typically around those hard to reverse maneuvers (poke, shake, clutch etc) and I already knew that before hand since we had this match up during the V7 launch party tournament. Hence, I took extra caution to retain all those anti reversal restriction cards in my hand against him and even had a chance to land a Two Time! Two Time! as a reversal. The continuous disruption from The Diva of Tomorrow and This is MY House soon crippled the American Dragon and I finished him off with a Precision Kick (or BASH Kick can't remember) to grab the head start for this best of 3 series.
Match 2: Charlotte defeated Daniel Bryan
With the knowledge of how Daniel's Daniel Bryan (again, very catchy) run and him not knowing how my Charlotte function, I've got the complete advantage over him. I pumped up an incredible amount of hand since there was no disruption from him and threw all my lumberjack moves at him, clearing his hand in the process. Played Team PCB to restrict him from playing reversals to my submissions without first discarding, finished him off with a combo of Figure Four Leg Lock + Figure Eight combo to make him tap out for my 2-0.
Match 3: Becky Lynch defeated Daniel Bryan
Daniel did a bit to set up his hand but was disrupted by the Four Horsewomen of NXT and run in to some problems. I did my usual stuffs from Becky's Precision Leg Drop in to multiple Precision Sleeper and continued to disrupt his hand with my Steampunk Goggles. Dropped the I've Waited Long Enough to clear his hand and went for the Precision Kick + Victory Roll combo BUT! It was stopped by a It's Great to be back... on the overturn! Although things did not go much from there since he still has no handsize. Locked in the Precision Leg Lock next turn and the damage was all fully dealt! Although now would be a good chance to finish off against his 0 hand with a Victory Roll, I chose to lock in the Dis-Arm-Her instead for the thematic victory!
Overall:
It has been a long time since I have last played with Daniel and I know he is pretty rusty with VC Raw Deal. So, I would like to salute his fighting spirit for attempting the challenge in spite of the odds he has to overcome (after all, it's just a game~). I believe Daniel would still be a really decent player if given enough time to ease himself back in to the game. I will be looking forward to playing with a much more stronger Daniel if I have another challenge!
