INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the first Revo article of 2016! Today’s article will be about non-follow-up Means in the game. As usual, they will be categorized into individual segments based on their effects. Superstar recommendations would also be given when applicable. I will also touch on some tips and cards that could work well with them. I try to include as many pictures of the cards as possible, but some are virtual cards that I haven't found a way to include yet. If there are any kind souls that know how to do so, please share so everyone can benefit from it! Thanks in advance:) Before we start, lets take a look at this short Q&A.

Q: Why can’t Two For The Show(TFTS - Reverses any card with exactly 2 words) reverse Revolution Chair Shot since its only 2 words?
A: As per rulings similar to classic format's Edge’s Rated R Superstar, the word ‘Revolution’ in front of all revolution cards is also counted as a word. Therefore, TFTS cannot reverse Revo Chair Shot, but can reverse Revo STF or Revo Spear. This is also applicable to D-X in AA when he searches for cards for his ability..
With that aside, let’s move on to the main topic of Non-Follow-up Means.
SUPPORT
As usual, there are Pre-match cards that would give players a reason to play Means, and a reason for your opponent to not reverse them. With 4ever: No Mercy in play, your opponent will have a hard time trying to decide whether to reverse your Means and overturn 4, or to eat that Mean. Climbing The Ladder would help to ensure that you will forever have a sizeable handsize. The only downside is that you will need to have lower SSV than your opponent. However, with a number of superstars running Storylines to add their SSV, as well as many others who incorporate title belts into their Pre-match layout, this shouldn’t be too difficult to play assuming you don't add yours. There are no cards as of this writing that can add your opponent's SSV in Revo.
DRAWING / ADDING CARDS TO HAND
This category of cards allows its users to draw cards to boost their hand. An ample handsize is crucial in most situations and these cards can make that happen. Some of the cards below can be combo-ed by maneuvers that can be retrieved from their ringside. An example would be discarding a Scissors Hold for Short-Arm Rib Breaker to draw 4, and then using the effect of Scissors Hold to discard 1 and retrieve it back to your hand. In general, superstars that require discarding to activate their effects would benefit from this category of Means. Sabu Is a good example where his ability requires him to put 1 card from his hand at the bottom of his arsenal to cause a random discard from your opponent’s hand when Sabu successfully plays an Assault. Playing a European Uppercut (Assault) to draw 2 and put 1 at the bottom for your ability will reduce the chances of you having less hand.
REDUCING FORT
This is a small category but could turn games around easily. Means usually start from 7F and if you are depending on non 0F hybrid maneuvers (if you play Second Solution), there are no other 0F cores that will grant you 7F straight away. These maneuvers however are able to reduce their Fort in order for the user to play them. Running the following Pre-match could also help to play these cards earlier in the game.
When you play this card, your Spear would be 0F if its effect takes place. There are only 4 non-superstar cards in the game that can stop Means played on the first turn of the game or when you have 0F. 3 of which are the 0F7D maueuver/reversal hybrids, and Before This Gets Out Of Hand (Mid-match that puts that Mean back in your hand). A good superstar that can take advantage of this would be Triple H where he can pick any of the following cards up from ringside with his ability, allowing him to go Mean heavy as early as the first turn of the game if applicable.
DISCARDING
Some cards in this category of maneuvers are quite difficult to pull off. But with the correct tactic, it would be rather useful. Ric Flair can take advantage of Bulldog Lariat as his ability allows him to pick up certain maneuvers from his ring. Thus allowing him to pick up Cores that he discard for Bulldog Lariat. Christian could possibly benefit from Airplane Spin as well since his ability allows him to play antics from his ringside every turn. Do take note that these effects only take place when they are successfully played and are not requirements to play them. It is also possible to not discard. Knee Lift is an extremely strong card on its own. Combo-ing it with a discarding theme in general would be very strong.
REUSING
This category of maneuvers can also be combo-ed with the cards from the Drawing category above. They also act as very good back-up cards when you run out of maneuvers to play from your hand or backlash. Coupled with 4ever: No Mercy, your opponent will have to keep eating the 4 cards if he decides to reverse these maneuvers while you can play them over and over again. When you are at the receiving end of such cards, my humble suggestion is to just take the damage and prevent him from re-using them again. Struck By A Singapore Cane is also good for superstars or tactics that involves re-using it. Unlike the rest, this card can be retrieved from your ring when it is reversed from arsenal. Therefore, Sandman would obviously benefit as he can keep activating his ability plus his Mid-match that interacts with it. Another superstar that can make good use of this card is Balls Mahoney where he can keep using his ability every turn to find another Extreme.
RETRIEVING CARDS FROM RINGSIDE
The ability to retrieve cards from ringside are hard to come by and things that usually end up in your ringside will stay there unless you recover them. This category would help you to retrieve certain cards that you need. Superstars with painful Maneuver/reversal hybrids like Triple H or Big Show will benefit a lot from Discus Punch or Powerslam as they can retrieve their 20D Maneuver/reversal hybrids into their hand. Since Ankle Lock and Sharpshooters are also Leg, it is possible to combo them with Ring Psychology:Leg for maximum benefits.

EVERYTHING ELSE
Even though there are not fitted into any category, they each possess a good effect that can help you in times of need. Dragon Sleeper is good for recovery. Garbage Can Lid is good for superstars like Dolph Ziggler or Tommy Dreamer who can change their maneuver types. Having knowledge of your opponent’s hand will allow you to make better choices. Ring Steps act as good bridging Fort from your Extreme Cores to Colossals Fort.

CONCLUSION
With that, we have come to the end of yet another revo article. At first look, Means seem like the easiest to reverse out of the 3 tiers (Cores, Means and Colossals) from Mid-match reversals. Low Fort Mean reversals also mean that they can be reversed more easily. However, with the correct superstar and appropriate support cards like 4ever: No Mercy, Means can pack a punch and help you win games. Means do not stop here though. We will be looking into another Follow-ups in the next article so stay tune!
Till then, have a nice day and thanks for reading!
