1 A few of the administrators of this website had come together to establish a centralize board to manage the tournament scene systematically for the year of 2015. The purpose of this board is to manage the frequency and quality of local tournament to maintain the interest of the growing player base.
2 The board will forecast a series of endorsed tournaments for year 2015 (see para 8), and interested tournament organizers (hereafter known as 'applicants') can bid for the rights to organize the tournaments. In order to bid for the rights to organize a tournament, applicants need to provide adequate information such as date, time, venue, format, entry fee, prizes, rules etc. Refer to the following post for the full application form. Applications need to be sent in no later than the last day of the month, 3 months before the month of that tournament. (For example: Tournament 07 has been forecast to take place in July 2015, the application has to be sent in latest by 30 April 2015, 23:59.) In the event where there are no applicant or no selected applicant, the board will organize the tournament instead.
3 The members of the board will review the applications and select one application that is deemed to be best for the tournament participants' interest. The tournament organizing experience of the applicants wiill be taken into consideration too. The selected application will be the winning bid for that particular tournament. The applicant will be notified about his successful application within 5 days, and can proceed to make announcement for his tournament. If the details of the tournament differ significantly from what was being proposed in the application, the board will not endorse the tournament. Refer to para 4 for guidelines on the acceptance level for change in details.
4 Applicants are not encouraged to make any changes to the tournament details once the application has been approved. If there is a dire need to do so, please adhere to the following guidelines:
a. Entry Fee - Cannot increase by more than S$2.00
b. Date - Cannot be more than 7 days before or after the proposed date
c. Time - Cannot be more than 2 hours before or after the proposed time
d. Venue - Please ensure it is a publicly-accessible area
e. Prize - Value of prize for each position cannot be less than 90% of the proposed prize. Value is to be determined by the board
f. Ban list (if any) - No restriction on changes to proposed ban list, but the change must be made no later than 1 month before the tournament date
5 Applicants will be blacklisted and barred from applying for future tournaments if being caught breaching the guidelines (refer to para 4), or cancelling/no-showing the event.
6 The benefit of these endorsed tournament is that the board will provide additional prize support on top of the prizes proposed by the applicants, thus making the prize payout more appealing for the participants while the organizer can keep his budget in control. Interested tournament organizers can still hold their own tournaments, but will not be endorsed by the board, and not receive any benefits in the form of prize support from the board.
7 The member of the board are BALLS, alonsocwj, and xbchee. The application can be sent to either of them.
