INTRODUCTION
Welcome to yet another weekly article on revo! Today's article would be a continuation from the previous article (click <HERE> for the link) where we looked into Tomorrow's WWE Legends, The Degenerates and Attitude Adjusters and how to better make use of them. Today we would be focusing on the last 2 factions, ECW Originals, and The New Breed. If you were not aware, these 2 factions took place in the short-lived ECW brand back in the 2000s where the original icons like RVD and Sabu went against the new superstars of ECW like Elijah Burke and Matt Striker. Here's a <LINK> to their match at wrestlemania if you are interested But we digress enough. Here's an overview of the 2 factions. I will also touch on the virtual support for each faction. With that, let's get it on!
Faction 4: The New Breed
Before virtual came about, this faction was very popular as it allows any superstar to be an Extremist and tap into the various goodies that extremists get such as bonus effects from Extreme:follow-up or reversals like Overexposure (staple for Extremists). Unlike the previous factions in the previous article, The New Breed's secondary effect lasts throughout the game. Coupled with 4Ever: No Mercy, reversing a mean would mean you need to discard 1 and overturn 4. But that’s for another article on its own!
However, with the introduction of the Too Extreme For Your Own Good, it has reduced its playability.
However, with the introduction of the Too Extreme For Your Own Good, it has reduced its playability.
The Elijah Experience
Primary effect: This card is good, especially in late game where opponent’s reversals are depleted. By knowing what reversal your opponent has used, you can roughly look for assaults/extremes that attack those targets. That would greatly increase your chance of successfully playing them. This card can be searched by ECW title or One For The Money. Marcus Cor Von can fully utilise this card by playing a core, and discarding 1 extreme for his ability to reduce the F of the next extreme by 4F, he is able to retrieve the discarded extreme from his hand from his ability.
Secondary effect: Another effect that is not very common in Revo. And that is to remove cards from opponent’s ring. This effect is very effective especially if your opponent’s tactics revolves around their Pre-match cards like Ring Psychology cards. Once those are removed, it would definitely affect their tactics.
A Bloody Nightmare
Primary effect: Extremely effective and synergizes very well with your faction card. Firstly, your opponent has to reverse your Extreme:Cores as Mean. Secondly, when they reverse them, they will have to discard 1 card for your faction’s effects.
Secondary effect: Nothing fancy with this effect. Just that revo doesn’t see a lot of cards that allows you to look at your opponent’s deck (another I can think of is 360-Degree Clothesline).
Prepare for the POUNCE
Primary effect: On first look, the effect might look plain. But it actually synergizes with the last card of the faction. This card works very well with Marcus Cor Von as it helps to prep him for his trademark.
Secondary effect: Extremes see a good amount of maneuvers that causes discarding effects. Cards like Steel Chain Shot and Drive Opponent Through Announcer’s Table are some of the extremes that causes your opponent to discard or put cards from his hand at the bottom of their arsenal. Coupled with this antic, your opponent is more likely to end up with fewer chances of playing maneuvers and eating the aggression rule more frequently late game unless he can work with minimal handsize.
Here’s a Lesson Plan
By using Prepare For The Pounce, this card can technically reverse any maneuver played by your opponent. Being able to shuffle 6 cards is also another bonus to the powerful card. Needless to say the 3 extra Fort will get you enough Fort to play The Elijah Experience.
VIRTUAL SUPPORT
Its effect to grant an extra Pre-match slot plus having the words ‘New Breed’ in its text helps to satisfy the requirements for the activation of your faction cards easily. Additionally, each printed member of the faction has an antic that might have lasting effects throughout the game such as Matt Striker’s ‘A Big Assist From Big Daddy V’, as well as Kevin Thorn’s ‘Bat’s In The Belfry’.
Overall advice: The New Breed would have been very useful to many other decks, but with the rise of Too Extreme For Your Own Good, it has been relegated to be played by printed extremist. But if there is a way to remove ‘Too Extreme’ early in the game, this card would be immensely powerful for non-printed members.
Recommended Superstars:
Based on the virtual support, both Kevin Thorn and Matt Striker are the better superstars to use this faction. If you are yolo enough to play this card for a non-printed superstar, then I would strongly suggest Kurt Angle. The gist of his ability is like chain, where you have to discard 1 card in order to reverse a throw or extreme. Coupled with the faction effect, every reversal to your mean would cause a deplete of 3 cards from your opponent’s hand. 1 for ability, 1 for the faction effect, and 1 being the reversal used.

<ECW logo> Originals
Primary effect: The effect takes place immediately and would last throughout the game. Therefore, it is important that you should run this card as your first card, so that if you opponent happens to play multiple copies of the same Pre-match card like The More The Merrier, you would be able to draw from this effect straight away. However, do take note that your opponent can get to draw if you play cards with the same title as a card in you ring.
Secondary effect: As stated before, starting the game in Revo does not have a very clear advantage as there are no cards like Pump Kick that has bonus effects if played first. However, by starting first, you are able to increase the chance of chaining up your maneuvers. Early game sees very little mean or colossal reversals less Before This Gets Out Of Hand or Slow The Match Down To A Crawl. Therefore, if you are able to work around them, you might be on your way to a head start in fortitude and damage done to your opponent.
Enter The Sandman
Primary Effect: Take note that there is a requirement to put 1 maneuver from your ring to ringside in order to play this card. This card works very well with certain type of cards in Revo that allows you to constantly pick them up from your ringside. Examples of such cards are Scissors Hold and Elbow Smash. By removing them from your ring to your ringside as an effect of the antic, you are able to activate their effect right away and use them straight away to get the momentum and triple its damage. Another good superstar to use this with is Terry Funk, where his extreme damage are cumulative. Therefore, a core can do around 10D in late game. Coupled with this card, it would do at least 30D or more and it has momentum.
Secondary effect: Once again, not a very common effect to remove anything from opponent’s ring to ringside in revo. This could possibly disrupt tactics revolving around targets and Ring Psychologies.
Innovative Violence
There is no primary effect for this card but do take note of the requirement to put 1 antic from your ring to ringside before being able to play this card. The Fort to Damage ratio is very nice as it would bring you to colossal Fort range. Being able to search for 1 extreme from your arsenal could work wonders if your opponent has exhausted most of his extreme reversals. Similarly, extremists like Terry Funk can turn switch his tactics by focusing on different tiers of extreme from means to cores or to colossals etc.
Worth the Price of Admission
Primary effect: Once again, there is a requirement to put 3 non-uniques from your ring to your ringside. To work around this requirement, you might consider removing cards like Double Leg Lock Crab, Full Nelson Slam or Spinning Dropkick as they can be played from ringside or be put back into your hand. Giving your next card momentum could be game changing, especially if you know that your opponent’s momentum reversals are used up.
Secondary effect: Not very effective, as cards like Toys Under The Ring can do roughly the same thing at a lower Fort. But since the primary effect is so good, you can probably just treat the secondary effect as a bonus instead.
Death-Defying Maniac (Errata)
Reversal: Card
Requirement: “Revolution ECW® Originals” Faction in your Ring.
After the Requirement text, this card now reads: "If this card reverses from Arsenal: put this card into your Ring and if you have 3 or more Superstar-specifics from "ECW Originals" Faction Members and/or cards with "ECW Originals" in the text in your Ring, you may discard 1 Reversal: put up to 1 Pre-match Event from his Ring into his Ringside and end his turn."

*ERRATA-ed text in bold*
Or
And here we are, on the last faction card. This was left as the last of the last because it does what no other card in the whole format does. It reverses ANY CARD. Which is a big deal for Revo, or in fact for All-Axxess as well. At F:0, this is also the only revo card that can reverse a Trademark: Core on the first turn of the game, something that cannot be reversed without enough Fort. The secondary effect is similar to other faction cards that allows removal of cards from ring to ringside.
Take note that the ERRATA only applies to the Non-TB version of the card. The Throwback Version would still work as printed.
VIRTUAL SUPPORT
This virtual support does not really stand out as it works well only in All-Axxess when The House That Hardcore Built is revealed. The only advantage that I can think of is for Terry Funk where he would be able to draw up to 3 cards from the primary effect as he has 1) ECW Originals, 2) Original Hardcore Legend (his own Pre-match), 3) Keeping It Original in his ring.
Overall Advice: This faction by far is my favourite simply due to Death Defying Maniac. Any deck would benefit from it, and you can simply treat the rest as a bonus when you are packing this card.
Recommended Superstars: Although this faction does not specifically focus on anything other than removing cards from opponent’s ring, you can consider playing Sandman, that allows you to recover 2 cards for each successful maneuver played, or RVD where he can pack up to 3 Innovative Violence due to his ability to pack 3 of each unique extremes.
CONCLUSION
With that, we have come to the end of the 2 part faction introduction. Next week, we would be looking at Ring Psychology cards. Till next time, if you have any queries or points of improvements for me to make, feel free to leave them in the comments section below and I will try my best to revert as soon as possible!
Thank you for reading and have a nice day!
