The registration is starting in a short while, and there's already a crowd waiting to register themselves for the tournament. Other than the usual familiar faces, there are some new faces too.
Looks like this will be a tough fight for all the competitors!

A total of 15 players joined the tournament, which makes it a top 4 cut!
Metagame Break Down
The metagame is very diversed, with no repeated superstars.
1 Andre the Giant 1 Bookerman 1 Your Freaking Hero 1 Bobby Heenan 1 Hurricane 1 Mr. Kennedy 1 The People's Champ 1 Roddy Piper 1 Rob Van Dam 1 Sgt. Slaughter 1 Shane O' Mac 1 Shelton Benjamin 1 Stacy Keibler 1 Theodore Long 1 Eric Bischoff
A point to note: In the past events that has no ban list, usual powerhouse such as Andre, Kennedy, Piper, Mr. PPV etc were not commonly seen. However, this tournament seems to be a comeback for these powerhouse. This will no doubt inject more competitiveness in the metagame. How will the more "casual" players respond? Let's find out!

Round 1 Featured Match: Daniel (Hurricane) vs Zhi Xian (RVD)
------------------------------------------------------------
Both players were fairly familiar with each other's playing style, but Daniel brought with him a brand new deck, while Zhi Xian decided to pilot his trusty RVD which won him the Summer Champion 2014 title.
With Super Mask and Super Cape revealed, Zhi Xian could not run his usual pre-match that includes 2 Pyrotechnic Volley. However, Daniel isn't far-off better, with his Gregory Helms being removed by Unscripted. Zhi Xian searched for Dynamic Flying Body Press, A Revolution of the Mind, and Volley This with R-V-D. Daniel played It's Showtime, but oddly, opted not to activate it to end Zhi Xian's turn. This decision confused Zhi Xian a little, but was nonetheless happy that he didn't activate it.
Balls started the game, and discarded Dynamic Flying Body Press and played Punch After Punch, which Daniel has no reversals to. He removed Clutch onto Opponent, and Daniel reversed it on the overturn. Daniel ended his turn without playing anything. Zhi Xian played another Punch After Punch, removing 2 Clutch onto Opponent this time round. Daniel reversed on the overturn again, and has nothing to play on his turn again. Zhi Xian then played Shoot Forearm, which Daniel has no answer to, and followed it up with a Shooting Star Press TB, but was reversed by It's Great to be Back Here in. Still, without anything to play, Daniel ended his third consecutive turn helplessly. Zhi Xian then finished off the game with his third Punch After Punch, and Daniel accepted the loss.
Winner: Zhi Xian

Round 2 Featured Match: Norman (Andre) vs Vincent (Theodore Long)
------------------------------------------------------------
Seeing that Norman is using Andre the Giant, Vincent chose to enforce Edge, possibly for the great handsize and ability to go first. He played only Trash Talking Interview TB and Haterade, leaving him with 14 handsize. Norman chose to shuffle A Revolution of the Mind from Vincent's starting hand, and Vincent shuffled an additional 5 cards back. Vincent looked at Norman's hand, and chose to shuffle Big Time back.
Vincent started the game, and activated Haterade for 3, putting Dynamic Finisher, Blindside Beal Toss and Waist Lock TB from Andre's hand back. Vincent played Double Clothesline Takedown, and Norman took all 6D. Vincent followed it up with The Mack Militant before Norman activated his ability and end Vincent's turn. Norman then triggered his backstage card. Vincent searched for Face Stretch, and Norman searched for Giant Head Butt and Booby Trap TB. He played Giant Head Butt, discarding Booby Trap, forcing Vincent to discard his Face Stretch. Norman then played Grab, searching for Maintain Hold TB, and maintained his Grab.
Vincent showed a sign of urgency on his face as he probably know how this is going down, with Norman dealing 1D every turn and searching for 1 non-unique card, until Vincent finally reverse it from overturn. It lasted for 4 turns before Vincent finally reverse it with an Elbow on the overturn, and heaved a sigh of relief. Vincent murmured to himself that this is difficult, seeing that Norman has plenty of cards in his hand, and he has only 1 card from his draw segment. He played Road to Victory as an action, hoping to draw something good, but to no avail. He was left with no choice, but to use his ability and search for Suplex into the Ring TB, changing his enforcer to Eddie Guerrero. Norman felt that something is wrong, and scanned through his Vincent's ringside pile. hoping to get a clue what Vincent is trying to do. Without any signs showed yet, he ended Vincent's turn.
Norman played 8th Wonder, removing Vincent's Sustained Damage. He then played It's Not My Fault being the Strongest and Biggest and drew 3, before playing Vise Lock, hiding 3 cards underneath. It was reversed on overturn. Vincent activated Fifth Anniversary, and played For the Love of the Game, which got reversed. Norman scanned through his ringside pile, filtering out the blindside cards he have out there, and played Blindside Tornado Strike, but was again reversed on the overturn. Vincent's arsenal is getting thin. He searched for Let's Wrestle Already with his ability, and played it, hoping to draw into something good, but to no avail. Norman played Precision Kick and Fujiwara Arm Bar, taking back Volley This in the process. It was reversed by Always Have a Plan B, and Norman decided to use chain's effect to search for another copy of Fuiwara Arm Bar.
Vincent drew for his draw segment, and complained to himself about his bad luck. He then played A Phoenix Rising, which Norman gladly let it in, seeing that he has way over 30F. Vincent played Poke, and Norman gladly took 1D. Norman played That's Broken, hiding a card underneath, then played Atomic Driver from his hand, searching for Obey. Vincent then played a second Phoenix Rising, and Norman reversed it with Obey and Volley This, bringing Vincent down to 0.
Winner: Norman

Round 3 Featured Match: Daryl (Bookerman) vs Timothy (Piper)------------------------------------------------------------ Both players shares the same superstar value, so they determined who's going first via die roll, and Daryl won. Daryl played Your Town, and Timothy was taken aback, perhaps totally not anticipating that. After some consideration, Timothy decided to play his Jimmy Hart after Daryl play his Sharmell. Timothy then blank Daryl's My Sacrifice using Piper's Pit, and Old School Wrestling Match, effectively maiming majority of Daryl's pre-match plan. Dice was rolled again to determine who go first, and Daryl won the die roll again. Daryl attempted to play Back Fist, but Timothy reminded him that it is blank text, therefore still a 6F maneuver. Daryl carefully read through some of the cards that he can play, perhaps checking if they are blanked, and decided to play Future Considerations. It was successful, so Daryl played Sharmell Sizzling Spouse, which was reversed by Timothy using Rules Were Meant to be Broken. Timothy played 3 This is Just the Beginning, drawing 3 from Premiere Smackdown Superstar. Daryl asked why didn't he continue to play more of it, and Timothy answered that he was wary of Ap Chaki Kick. Daryl played Sharmell Sizzling Spouse again, but once again reversed by Rules Were meant to be Broken. Timothy continued to play 2 more Beginnings, drawing 2 from Premiere Smackdown Superstar. Daryl played Dirty Low Blow, which was easily reversed by Timothy using Anything and Hate It. Timothy played German Suplex TB, and Daryl took all . Timothy continued with a Beginning, and ended his turn, perhaps hoping to avoid You're As Graceful As A Cow on Ice. Daryl played a Panic Throw, and Timothy reversed it using A Revolution of the Mind, and played a German Suplex TB again. All were taken, so Timothy continued his assault with Shoot Action before ending his turn. Daryl searched for his final Sharmell Sizzling Spouse, and played a second Panic Throw, which was reversed by Cowboy Bob Orton Interferes. Timothy used That's Balance and hid 2 cards underneath, then played Grab the Mic TB, plunging 10F to Daryl's reversal to Rowdy Sleeper. Daryl sustained it down to and took them all. Timothy ended his turn. Daryl removed 8 cards in his ringside pile and took back 2 Kidney Punch. Daryl wanted to discard 1 of them to retrieve Super Punch, but was reminded by the judge that it was blanked, therefore unable to take it back. Daryl ended his turn, feeling helpless. Timothy played Grab the Mic TB again, but got reversed by Can You Dig It Sucka. Daryl still had nothing to do on his turn. Timothy then play Brave H and Precision Haymaker, putting Daryl down to 0. Winner: Timothy

Round 4 Featured Match: Timothy (Piper) vs Jun Wei (Shelton Benjamin)
------------------------------------------------------------
After 3 mind stretching and exhausting rounds, the players are finally at the last swiss round. With Norman and Iver already qualified for the top cut, and Xiu Bin cashing in his MitB, Timothy and Jun Wei are fighting for the last spot to qualify.
Jun Wei's pre-match plan was twarted by Timothy's Calling-Old School-US tactic.
Timothy started the game, but ended his turn, which raised a few eyebrows. Jun Wei started the ball rolling with a Scoop Slam TB, but was reversed by Jimmy Hart. Timothy played a This is just a beginning, but got his turn ended by Road to Victory. Jun Wei tried Scoop Slam TB again, but was reversed by A Revolution of the Mind and Elbow to the Face. Timothy then played 4 more Beginnings, then Shoot Action which was reversed by Lift A Boot TB and Graceful as Cow on Ice.
Jun Wei attempted Wraparound Wristlock, but was still denied by Elbow to the Face. Timothy then played Grab the Mic TB, plunging 10F to Jun Wei's reversals to Timothy's Suicide Strike. Jun Wei took all 20D, and Timothy ended his turn. Jun Wei tried to play Panic Grab and Wraparound Wristlock, but was reminded by Timothy that Panic Grab is blank text. Jun Wei had no choice but to play Wraparound Wristlock alone, which got reversed by Manager Interferes.
Timothy played another Grab the Mic TB, and follow it up with Precision Haymaker, ending Jun Wei's hope to enter the top cut.
Winner: Timothy

Semi-finals Featured Match Xiu Bin (Eric Bischoff) vs Ryan (Sgt. Slaughter)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Xiu Bin, being the MitB holder, has a distinct advantage over Ryan coming into this match as he hasn't played any match, so he is mentally less exhausted. On top of that, the type of deck he is running is still a secret to Ryan. Can these advantage lead Xiu Bin to the final? Or can Ryan overcome the odds and charge up to final?
Both revealed their superstar card and backstage area. Xiu Bin opted for Cole as his enforcer, and searched for Uncle Eric's Karate Kick.
Xiu Bin nullified one of the 2 main advantage he had over Ryan when he played According to Linda, allowing Ryan to look through Xiu Bin's deck and get an idea of what kind of deck Xiu Bin is running. As the pre-match phase carries on, Xiu Bin played 3 It's Time for a Great American BASH, and the 3rd copy overturned Cobra Clutch TB from Ryan's arsenal. Ryan showed a slight sign of unhappiness when the Cobra Clutch TB was being overturned. Xiu Bin, having the lower superstar value of the 2, played It's Showtime, in hope to get a head start over Ryan, but was denied by a well-timed Old Switcheroo.
Ryan resolved his Trash Talking Interview TB, and Xiu Bin picked A Revolution of the Mind from Ryan's hand. He shuffled an additional 3 cards back, and drew 4 cards. Ryan then looked at Xiu Bin's hand, and chose to let Xiu Bin shuffle his Uncle Eric's Karate Kick back. Xiu Bin then resolved his Underrated Superstar TB, and decided to search for That's Balanced with Managed by William Regal after some considerations.
Ryan activated Fifth Anniversary and shuffled 5 cards back, one of it being Cobra Clutch TB, and then searched for Cobra Clutch TB using Sgt Slaughter's ability. He played it without any hesitation. With a mere 9 cards in hand, Xiu Bin decided not to reverse it even though he has 2 Revolution of the Mind in his hand. Ryan searched for Maintain Hold, and Xiu Bin played Sustained Damage, but not using it. Xiu Bin took the full damage, and Ryan played Maintain Hold, but was reversed by Cow on Ice and One Issue on My Mind, searching for Uncle Eric's Karate Kick in the process.
Xiu Bin used Cole's ability, calling for A Revolution of the Mind, but Ryan had none of it in his hand. Xiu Bin took a few seconds to look at what Ryan had in hand. As Ryan had a Get the F Out in hand, Xiu Bin's initial plan of gaining fortitude with Uncle Eric's Karate Kick could not work. He pondered for awhile, at the same time looking at his hand and ringside pile, checking what other alternatives he had. He played Sharmell Sizzling Spouse, hoping to draw into something good. He checked the number of cards Ryan has in hand (7), then proceeded to play Roll Out of the Ring, retrieving Power is Back and That's Balanced. Ryan paused Xiu Bin as he drops a Judo Choke TB into play since Xiu Bin successfully played 2 actions in the turn. Xiu Bin checked the number of cards Ryan has in hand (6), then carried on to play Power is Back. With 4 fortitude from 3 It's Time for a Great American BASH and One Issue on My Mind, Xiu Bin can now play cards of up to 9F. He went on to flood his board with plenty of actions such as That's Balanced, run-in divas actions, and another copy of Power is Back. Ryan was constantly checking the number of cards Xiu Bin had in hand, perhaps hoping to play Cow on Ice to end Xiu Bin's turn. However, Xiu Bin's hand was maintained at not more than 6, not allowing Ryan to play Cow on Ice. Xiu Bin eventually got 6 different run-in divas action (one of which is According to Contract Table), and played WWE Divas: The Next Generation, but was reversed by Get The F Out.
Finally getting his turn, Ryan searched for German Suplex TB with his ability, and played it, only to be reversed by This is Going Nowhere Fast. Back to Xiu Bin's turn, he used Cole's ability and named Get The F Out, but to no avail. Making sure that Ryan has no more applicable reversal, Xiu Bin played a second copy of WWE Divas: The Next Generation, and won the game.
Winner: Xiu Bin

Final Xiu Bin (Eric Bischoff) vs Iver (Mr. Kennedy)
----------------------------------------------------------
Prior to the game, Iver commented that Eric Bischoff was the only bad match-up he faced throughout the day, and was happy that it came only at the final.
Xiu Bin reveal all the cards in his backstage area, and chose Stephanie McMahon as his enforcer. Iver, surprisingly, only revealed his Superstar card. Caught by surprised, Xiu Bin checked with Iver if he was really not going to reveal any of his other backstage card, and Iver was firm on his decision.
Both player had no playable pre-match, so they proceed to draw their respective hand size, resolved Xiu Bin's WWE Signing Appearance, and Xiu Bin got the game started.
Xiu Bin ended the first turn of the game without playing any card. Iver, perhaps having an undesirable hand and desperate for fortitude, played Sidewalk Slam TB, but was denied by A Revolution of the Mind. Xiu Bin once again ended his turn without any play. Iver continued his search for fortitude with Judo Takedown, but was once again denied by A Revolution of the Mind. With 2F now, Xiu Bin played Boot Lace, which Iver has no answer to. He played Sustained Damage, and used it to reduce Boot Lace to 0 damage. Xiu Bin carried on with a Shoot Action, which Iver had no answer to too, and took all 6 damage. Xiu Bin played Christy Curvy Cutie, but was reversed by Cow on Ice.
Iver ended his turn without any play this time round. Xiu Bin played Roll Out of the Ring, retrieving Christy Curvy Cutie, played it and drew 2 cards. He went on to play Activate, removing Iver's Sustained Damage, before playing According to Contract Table. Xiu Bin joked that if only Iver kept his Sidewalk Slam TB and Judo Takedown, he would have earned himself 7F from the 2 plays.
Xiu Bin ended his turn, but Iver still had nothing to throw at Xiu Bin, and ended his turn helplessly. Xiu Bin played Sharmell Sizzling Spouse, Power is Back, Maria Ideal Interviewer. Iver kept 4 cards in hand, 2 of which are Once is Enough and The Coach Says "Today's the Day!". Seeing that Iver has Once is Enough, Xiu Bin played WWE Divas: The Next Generation. Iver had no choice but to reverse it using Once is Enough.
Iver drew into Back Fist, and played it without a second thought. Xiu Bin, even though has reversals to it, decided to take the damage, perhaps not wanting to get locked down by volley's effect. It was reversed on the overturn, and Iver drew a card for stun value. Xiu Bin played You Talkin' to Me?, removing Back Fist, and played his second WWE Divas: Next Generation. Iver do not have any more reversal for it, so he used Road to Victory to end Xiu Bin's turn.
Both players had nothing constructive to play, and could only end their turn. This went on for 4 to 5 turns, until Xiu Bin finally drew That's Balanced. He played it, and Iver still had no reversal for action. This is perhaps the opening Xiu Bin was waiting for. With That's Balanced, Xiu Bin searched for 2 cards, one of which being Mickie: Fervent Fanatic, which he played after that. He searched for Roll Out of the Ring and Lilian: Amazing Announcer, played it and name Ap Chaki Kick. With 5 different run-in divas action and WWE Divas: The Next Generation already in his ring area, Xiu Bin ended the game with the 6th run-in divas action - Candice: Internet Icon
Winner, and SG Champion 2014: Xiu Bin

Maybe I can get it started, expressing my thoughts/feeling and of course to say Thank You! to the organisers. Alot of things to say but I try cut it short. Here you goes... Weeks ago I already knew I am unable to make it at 2pm for the event so I really didn't expect I got the chance to participate in SG Championship 2014 Tournament. In fact I made up my mind to come to SMU mainly is to deal some cards with potential buyer, for casual games and mingle around only. Despite those thoughts in mind, I still went ahead to form both Kennedy and Lashley as my competitive decks. Nevertheless I treated each prior decking session seriously to make my Kennedy & Lashley decks better. Special thanks to my playmates bloop26 & cerealkiller ! It was only on that very day, I was told that the organizer can wait for me and another late comer ( ivananiki) to make up a pair, facing one another. So here I am thankful to the organizer to allow me to give a shot to the Tournament and writing my deck list on the spot (thanks to BALLS for helping to read out while I write). I have selected my Kennedy deck to fight, not with the intention to win the tournament but actually just to prevent me from losing too badly. =P My 1st matchup with ivananiki is with his Bobby Heenan enforcing TEST. I would describe it as a bad-matchup for him and made worse with my backstage shenanigans to skip his first turn while I get to start first. Keeping it short, this match went smoothly for me and I secured my 1st match win. My 2nd matchup with timothytang is with his PIPER. We played with one another before the tournament. With the luck of helping old grandmother to cross the road, this particular game I got L-hand and L-draw, and I managed to stop his 'just a beginning' strategy smoothly and removing them from game with the help of 'break it down'. It became a one-sided match eventually and I am relief I secured 2nd match win. My 3rd matchup with BALLS is with his RVD. He is known for his RVD which won him tournament before so it was a hard game in my mind already. We started the game and I am lucky to draw a powerslam tb in 1st turn. As I managed to secure fortitude with my first maneuver successfully played, vince interferes is readily to be activated in his turn for my powerslam tb as reversal when he hit strike against me. With my 'never-ending' volley maneuvers every turn and help of 'break it down', I secured my 3rd match win. My 4th matchup with norshaedm is with his GIANT. Yea, GIANT with 100 cards arsenal. No doubt, definitely hard hard game in my mind already. I treated this match in particular seriously as I want to see how far my Kennedy can push to in matching up GIANT. I know I got to start first and whack my first maneuver in. Hence I took a risky move to play 6 prematches which bring down my printed handsize to 0. This 6 prematches is Managed by Vince tb, WWE championship belt, product endorsement, give them high five, vince interferes and pyrotechnic volley. With this layout, I knew I can secure 3 cards back from ringside pile and retrieve a painful starting volley maneuver from my arsenal. I have an unexpected great start with this strategy and victory seem to get closer with each consecutive turns. At one time, he reversed my 'punch after punch' from hand and ended his turn without playing a card, hence I took back my 'punch after punch' to whack again. It was a unknowingly mistake which I benefited. Apart from that, my 'end-less' volley maneuvers with stun drawing, 'break it down' and a critical powerslam tb as finishing reversal secured my 4th match win. I reached Top 4 eventually. Never did I expect I can come so far before the matches. Norman was one of the Top 4 actually but...was DQ due to errors in decklist which I felt super wasted. norshaedm is a worthy opponent and I must said that I am seriously not confident to secure my 2nd time win with his GIANT. So in the end, bloop26 moved up the Top 4. My 5th matchup is with timothytang again. This time was semi-final. Game started and I didn't have a hand that I wish for which consist of 2 x 'elbow to the face' as I know he playing bootlace, german suplex tb and precision sleeper. As usual he tried to hit me 'just a beginning' for two turns but was reversed once and 'road to victory' another one. There is a change of strategy which surprised me when he decided to hit me two times with blindside hook which the two 'elbow to the face' came to use. Afterwhich the whole game went smoothly for me and once again, my 'endless volley maneuvers' and 3 x 'break it down' safely secured my 5th match win, Road to Finalist. Final Match - It was a bad match-up with xbchee as he was using Eric Bischoff which enforced Stephanie to copy my gay ability. =(.... It was made worse with his L-hand also which is actually a small hand size but with 2 x 'revolution of the mind'. T_T ...Eventually I lost to his 'endless' actions and bid goodbye to Kennedy signature. I took Spinner Belt. ^_^ Congratulation! xbchee...I got a taste of my medicine but like what you mentioned, I am still relief that I only met you in final. And thanks for selling me the Kennedy signature at a brotherly price. Cheers! Some lessons learnt. - Need to keep a positive mindset despite bad match-up - Need to maintain composure despite bad match-up - Do not give up even before playing against bad match-up - Just cut the deck man - My decklist is a risky deck which do not consist of escape move, step aside and revolution of the mind. Not enough action reversals also. Need to relook into it especially for the worse case when no ability. Thanks for reading!
